“Music Theory for Beginners” is a friendly, accessible introduction to the building blocks of music, designed especially for electronic music producers. Whether you work in Ableton, FL Studio, Logic, or any DAW, this course shows you how theory directly enhances your tracks, melodies, basslines, and arrangements.
Created for absolute beginners, it helps you understand how music works—even if you’ve never read a note before. Through clear explanations, DAW-friendly examples, and practical exercises, you’ll learn the essential concepts that producers use to create powerful harmonies, expressive melodies, and rhythmically engaging grooves.
By the end, you’ll understand not only the theory, but also how to apply it creatively in electronic music production.
This course is led by Lee Burton, a Greek born Berlin-based music producer known for his distinctive sound and deep understanding of modern electronic music. With years of professional experience in the studio and on stage, Lee brings a practical, real-world perspective to music theory, making complex ideas clear, musical, and instantly usable.
Before relocating to Berlin, Lee served as a lecturer at SAE Institute in Athens, where he taught music production, music theory sound design, and advanced audio techniques.
Lee’s approach is hands-on, engaging, and beginner-friendly—perfect for anyone starting their musical journey.
