Facebook Custom Audiences (Pixel)

We use Facebook Pixel provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited,  Merrion Road, Dublin 2, D04 X2K5, Ireland ("Meta"). on our webpages. Of the several features offered we use the Custom Audiences (Pixel) one. This allows for our advertising to be shown in a targeted manner on Facebook to people visiting our webpages who also have a Facebook account. To this effect, Facebook Pixel provides a direct connection to Facebook servers whilst the usage data are transmitted to Facebook for analysis and marketing purposes. If you have a Facebook account, such data can be assigned to you. Your activities may be tracked by Facebook over several pages. The legal basis for using Facebook Custom Audiences is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You may revoke your consent at any time with future effect by deleting cookies in your browser or in the cookie settings.

Facebook Custom Audiences (List Method)

We use the Facebook Custom Audiences list method provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited,  Merrion Road, Dublin 2, D04 X2K5, Ireland ("Meta"). This method provides for users who have an account with Facebook to be shown our targeted advertising on Facebook.

To this effect, we transmit pseudonymized email addresses to Facebook. The email addresses are encrypted before they are sent to Facebook, i.e., a hash value is created from email addresses (a combination of various letters and numbers). Facebook can match these hash values with the corresponding hash values of the email addresses of Facebook users.

If you have a Facebook account, such data can be assigned to you. The processing of personal data is the sole responsibility of Facebook and thus beyond our control. Facebook provides more information on the collection and use of data here.

We use the Facebook Custom Audiences list method in view of our legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR) in optimizing our advertising campaigns, which may be objected to at any time with future effect by notifying our data protection officer accordingly.

You may object to the use of Facebook Custom Audiences at any time in the settings of your Facebook account. Pursuant to data protection law, Facebook and we are jointly responsible for targeted advertising on Facebook. Further information can be found here and here.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics on our website. This is a web analysis tool provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics sets the aforementioned cookies to analyze how webpages are used. The information generated by cookies on the use of our web pages, including the shortened IP address, is transmitted to a Google server, which may be located in the US, and is stored there. We have mutually agreed with Google Ireland Limited on so-called standard contractual clauses for the transfer of data to the US, a copy of which is available on request. Google exclusively analyzes anonymized data by using the code extension "anonymizeIp" provided by Google to partially change and thus anonymize IP addresses for the processing of data as described hereunder. 

If you register an account with us, we use an additional so-called "User ID" for this particular service. It is made up of a unique, permanent, and non-personalized string of characters, which is assigned by us when you first log into your account. When you log into your account during future visits to our website, all website activities are assigned to your user ID. This user ID is not assigned to a specific terminal (smartphone, laptop, etc.), but to you. With regard to Google Universal Analytics, your user ID is transmitted to Google and used by us as a pseudonym vis-à-vis Google.

Google Ads

We use the Google Ads service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google"). Google uses cookies to present relevant advertisements. To this end, Google assigns a pseudonymous identification number (ID) to your browser. This number is used to check which advertisements were presented on your browser and which ads you called up. The Google Ads cookies enable Google and its partner websites to present advertisements based on your previous visits to our webpages or those of others. No personal data are stored in the cookies. The cookies set may occasionally contain an additional anonymized identifier to track your interaction with a specific campaign. The information generated by the cookies is transmitted by Google to a server in the US and stored there. The data collected and stored are anonymized and merely evaluated for statistical purposes. We have mutually agreed with Google on so-called standard contractual clauses for the transfer of data to the US, a copy of which is available on request.

The data transmitted by us, which are linked to cookies, customer IDs (e.g., user ID) or advertising IDs, are automatically deleted after 26 months.

How and why we use information.

We collect and use your Personal Information with your consent to provide, maintain, and develop our products and services and understand how to improve them.

These purposes include:

  • To process your orders, register and administer your user account, and enable you to login and use the website and our services
  • To provide you with access to your purchase history and available downloads via ‘My Account’
  • To provide you with customer support if you have queries or problems
  • To send you newsletters about current and future products, programs and services, events,  competitions, surveys and  promotions held by us or hosted on our behalf

  • Tax collection: we must retain certain information regarding sales to verify location for UK/EU tax reporting.

Where we process your Personal Data to provide a product or service, we do so because it is necessary to perform contractual obligations. All of the above processing is necessary in our legitimate interests to provide products and services and to maintain our relationship with you and to protect our business for example against fraud. Consent will be required to initiate services with you. New consent will be required if any changes are made to the type of data collected. Within our contract, if you fail to provide consent, some services may not be available to you.

We will not without your express consent provide your personal information to any third parties for the purpose of direct marketing.

Antispam Policy

Newsletter Subscriber

A registered user is added to our Newsletter Subscribers database when he/she leaves the “Yes. I want to subscribe to the Sample Market newsletter” option ON, on our registration page. After completing our registration process which involves clicking an activation link sent to his/her email account the user becomes a Newsletter Subscriber. Our email communications with our Newsletter Subscribers is based solely on their permission.

What Is Spam?

Spam is unsolicited email also known as Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE). It involves emails sent to users who:

  • Have no association with the sender
  • Have registered an account but not opted in to receive commercial emails
  • Have previously opted in but then opted out of receiving commercial emails
  • Spam is also email communications without a valid reply-to address.

Sample Market does not send spam – ever. The goal of our existing email communications is to inform our Newsletter Subscribers of the new software releases which are published on a regular basis. Our Newsletters include the links to our new products, information about promotions and latest news from our industry.

We cooperate with other businesses that target similar audiences as ours – they send our newsletters to their opted-in subscriber base. We are very careful about the antispam practices of these businesses and never cooperate with companies that are outside the scope of our audience or our industry or which have an unclear Antispam Policy. On rare occasions we also send selected partners’ eflyers to our subscriber base.

We do not sell or distribute (for financial gain or for free) or otherwise disclose any partner or customer e-mail addresses to any third parties except when legally required.

Every newsletter contains an Unsubscribe link at the top of the message.

Necessary Communication.  There are situations which by their own nature require us to send you emails. These include:

  • Sending a message to your emailbox with the link to activate your account at Sample Market.
  • Sending you invoices for each completed transaction on our website.
  • Sending you emails concerning technical, legal and support matters.

Please make sure you do not flag Sample Market as ‘Spam’ or ‘Unsolicited’ in your email application. When you register and do not find an activation email in your inbox, check your spam folder.

Information that we collect may be stored and processed in and transferred between any of the countries in which we operate in order to enable us to use the information in accordance with this privacy policy.

Financial Information

The website does not store your credit card and payment details on our server. The website retains details of your purchases and purchased products in your account, but no sensitive details relating to your payment methods are stored or handled by Sample Market
